Jordin's MySpace Blog: Movie Theatre Etiquette
I went to the movies on a Friday night for the first time in a looong time. I was very excited because I was going with my mom, it was a romantic comedy, and I was able to just go and be normal for a couple hours.
Now, the movies are expensive, IMO, and I want to get what I paid for. Anyone else?
We go into the theatre and sit in the very back row, and I look down and see a WHOLE row full of middle school kids right in front of us. And I just KNOW that we're going to have a problem.
The movie starts and everything is okay for about the first half hour....then they start to get restless. They start whispering, well they tried to anyway, laughing (not at the movie), etc.
We are like, okay maybe they'll wind down....Nope. Not the case.
THEY TALK THE ENTIRE MOVIE.
My moms friend starts to 'shhh' them. That doesn't work. I tell them to shutup. (I usually don't say that, but I was mad) That doesn't work. Then my aunt goes and actually talks to them. FINALLY, they get a little more quiet.
So I just wanted to list a few things you SHOULD NOT do while at a movie theatre.

I hate it when that happens....
I Myself am in middle school, and I do go to movies with my friends, but we don't act like that. At one movie we went to, a young child, maybe five or six, kept screaming, and whining, talking very loud... etc. We got really annoyed, but didn't say anything. We just kept giving looks to the parents, and eventually they got the kid to hush. I really don't get the point of talking the entire movie. I am planning to hopefully go to the movie with my older cousin, who has two toddlers, 1&2. The 2 year old, SCREAMS at the top of his lungs, and we are pretty sure he has ADHD, like my cousin(his mom) So, it should be very interesting. Hopefully it goes well though!
